BOY SCOUT MONUMENT IN PALO

A Scout in motion

This monument depicts scouting as a vibrant and dynamic movement proclaiming to the whole world the dynamism of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines as it serves the needs of the millions of Filipino boys who must train under the guidance of adult volunteers in their quest for excellence and better quality of life.

The scout right hand is holding a bamboo patrol staff with eight nodes representing the eight members of the patrol: inscribed in the patrol flag is the figure of a Philippine eagle manifesting the organization's support to the protection of the country's national bird: the tree seedling in his left hand indicates his concern and active participation in scouting's ecology program. He steps firmly on the five rocks of rover scouting that serves as his guide in his growth to manhood.

On this scene was held the 12th National Jamboree of the boy scouts of the Philippines on 27 December through 2 January 2002 with the theme "Scouting in the 21st Century, Scouting in the community"
